PRIME from thismustbetheplace on Vimeo.
This is a delightful short film from This Must Be The Place that chronicles the Prime Burger Restaurant in midtown Manhattan. The restaurant opened in 1938 and hasn’t been altered since the early 60’s, creating a unique destination in the midst of hustle and bustle on E. 51st St. between Madison and Fifth. I love seeing the pride in the employes when they talk about the history of this little establishment that essentially takes people back in time.

The burger here is considered to be one of the best in the city, and I have to agree. Immaculate Infatuation has a great review:
This right here is the ideal lunch sized burger – a pint sized puck of Master Purveyors beef that’s perfectly pink on the inside, and served on a standard, soft, grocery store burger bun. It’s small enough that you can actually work post-burger session and it won’t knock you out for the rest of the day like most burgers tend to do. As we learned from Ed Levine’s in depth Serious Eats post, the secret to ordering here is making sure you specifically ask for your burger to be cooked from scratch for maximum juiciness
