I’ve written many posts about Sunday brunch, but I can say for certain that one hasn’t brunched until they’ve brunched at Freeman’s. Nestled in its own alley, and notorious for its long wait, Freeman’s usually gets pegged as one of those restaurants who doesn’t live up to its hype. But a casual brunch on Memorial Day weekend proved otherwise: Freeman’s is all about the timing. I can see why a brunch at noon, packed like sardines in the restaurant’s cramped, yet cozy, interior, could be not worth the hassle and the time. I recommend going later in the afternoon to truly enjoy what it has to offer, including rich pancakes with strawberries and rhubarb compote, and farm fresh eggs with perfectly cooked bacon.
The interior is inspired by classic American living, with simple and rustic touches, so to fit in, go for it! I’m obsessed with All Saints looks, that can transition perfectly from summer to fall, including this Echo Dress and adorable, well-worn boots.
