Shine Some Light

Late summer nights are the best for long, leisurely dinners, with good food and good company. Cue Pipa, the elegant tapas restaurant underneath ABC Carpet & Home. Not to be overshadowed by Chef Jean Georges Vongerichten’s ABC Kitchen, this opulent space offers great food and incredible sangria with an unbeatable atmosphere.

The most envious part of the restaurant are the dozens of chandeliers that adorn the ceiling and provide the warm glow, all of which are available on sale. The way they seem carelessly strewn around the room, with price tags still attached, makes it look low-key and bohemian, especially when contrasted with the exposed brick and seashells on the walls.

This is a trend to take advantage of in apartments here, many of which are blessed with high, open ceilings.  The trick, as Pipa showcases so elegantly, is to mix and match chandelier styles with abandon, playing with classic and modern concepts while concentrating on the amount of light they’ll give off, alone and together.
