The Underbelly Project: What You Need to Know

The Underbelly Project has gained tons of attention in the media this past weekend, and was featured in a lengthy NYTimes article. This mysterious collaboration between some of the best underground artists happened…underground, somewhere in the labyrinths of abandoned New York subway passages. Yet, despite the intrigue and attention, beware…

1)     You’ll Never See It: This project was never meant to be open to the public, so don’t expect any cool gallery opening anytime soon.

2)     You Can’t Find It: The location of the project is unknown, and could be any one of dozens of abandoned spaces in the subway system. Only a select few, and MTA employees, are informed.

3)     Banksy’s Not Involved: Banksy fans, fear not: Banksy reported that he passed down the opportunity to participate when promoting his film “Exit Through the Gift Shop”

It would be incredible to browse this talented exhibitions while exploring the mysteries and history of the architecture hidden beneath the city. We can only hope…
