The Classic New York City Six

What’s a girl to do in a recession? I’ve been thinking about that lately now that I have to tighten my belt. Instead of buying new things I have gone through my wardrobe and learned to love and recycle the clothes I already have. I was around in the late eighties and early nineties when a recession hit and fashion changed from Comme des Garcon to white t-shirts, black jackets and jeans overnight. The Double Sink

I was at my son’s class pot luck dinner for PS 234 third graders. The host had a beautiful collection of art pieces. But what caught my eye was this unusual double sink where you would face each other. I had not seen anything like it before. To have one you have got to have a rather extra large bathroom. Not very practical for NYC apartments or even lofts. However, the host informed me that they inherited the sink with their loft. She also said its the reason they have only one bathroom and that the sink comes from a girls boarding school. There is even a hose attachment for the girls to wash their hair. It all made perfect sense. I could actually envision it in a Harry Potter movie. If you want one for yourself, try reaching Loo Loo Design. They are well known for vintage bathroom and kitchen fixtures. If you get something, do share.
